The public first saw Angéla Póka on the Megasztár 3 programme. Since then her dream has come true: she has reached the goal for which she entered the programme and has formed her own group. And luckily not just one, but two. Visitors to the Chain Bridge can hear the group specialising in blues and gospel. They will perform mainly songs rarely heard in Hungary.
Buda side 16.00 pm The Wolf Who Came to Grief
tale theatre
With: Szabolcs Róka
Once upon a time there was a very hungry, very angry wolf. He set out to hunt, although he was so weak from hunger he could hardly drag himself along. As he went, after a while he met a flock of geese...
17.30 pm HOPPart Company
A pinch of musical, a pinch of operetta
The members of the company were all in the music class of Tamás Ascher and Eszter Novák at the University of Theatre and Film; they stayed together after graduation and formed their own company. Many of their productions can be seen in Budapest in the Merlin, the National Theatre, and the Ódry Stage.
19.00 pm Sss'ketches
Improvisation theatre
With: Zsolt Reitter and Szilárd Vass
The performance is a series of short scenes, situations – sketches – strung together into a single story, a basically entertaining play that experiments with an unusual genre. The performers involve the audience too, and at times their reactions are woven into the story.
20.30 pm “Under the Sky of Paris…”
French chanson evening
With: Attila Bardóczy (voice), Zoltán Orosz (accordion), Gábor Ursu (guitar)
The programme includes songs of such greats of classic chanson as Edith Piaf and Yves Montand, as well as such familiar melodies and hits as “C’est si bon” and “Orfeo Negro”.
5 July, Sunday Pest side 11.00 am Agostones
The Magic of Bagpipes for the Small and the Big Ones
Béla Agostones’ world is full of memories that are condensed and intermingled, echoing each other with a musical smile that sets the listener dreaming. His “Dudapest Circus” invites us into the realm of sounds soaring to celebrations and surprises. A mosaic of figures, a kaleidoscope of sound colours, a colourful patchwork of strange, especially Hungarian feelings.
16.30 pm Crisis, Peace!
Music medley
(an AKKU production)
With: Annamária Bucsi, Gyöngyi Molnár, Judit Szathmári, Gábor Bakos Kiss, Domonkos Márk Kis, Kata Péter, Kristóf Gál, Nóra Dia Takács, Zsolt Balogh, Tamás Matkó, Ádám Schönberger, Zsolt Máthé There’s a global crisis. When there’s a crisis, you have to struggle, “you have to be there”.
18.30 pm Athina Papadimitriu – Latin touch
CD launching for lovers of Latin music
Athina Papadimitriu “Latin touch – Historia de un Amor”.
The artist, accompanied by guitarist Rezső Kutik, sings Latin evergreens from her album with a unique sound and renewed form. The internationally known songs about love, disillusionments and life, are sung in the original languages, Spanish and Portuguese. As a special attraction, Paloma Negra, from the film Frida is sung with Ágota Siménfalvy. Some of the songs in the performance also come to life as dance, performed by Andrea Lippai, the Hungarian queen of flamenco. 20.30 pm Midsummer Night’s Dream with Zuboly – SplitDeco Live
With: Gábor Orgoványi, fine artist
Their music stretches the limits of the song, filling it like a sausage with very integral things: jazz elements, folk roots, fragments of hits. Best consumed fresh. So far they have created a frozen product, in CD format: Értem a kujonságot! which is a quote from “Zuboly” (aka Bottom) in Midsummer Night’s Dream. The concert is accompanied by animation created on the spot by Gábor Orgoványi.
21.30 pm Fire Show
Music and fire performance
Buda side 16.00 pm Corvinus Quartet
Concert of works by Mozart and Gershwin
17.30 pm The night is long…
Evening of songs with the Canarro group and their guests
With: Orsolya Kálóczi, Andrea M. Simon and András Botond Győri
19.00 pm Momentán Company
Interactive, improvisational theatre
Momentán is a brave theatre company composed entirely of young people who completely disregard such theatrical norms as “repertoire”, “play” or even “role”. They have no stories written in advance: in their performances the drama is always shaped by what the audience wants. Viewers can also join in the improvised performance by the Momentán Company. They can make up situations, give the actors words to say, go up on the stage as actors themselves, but if they prefer they can remain in the background, no one will force them to do anything.
20.30 pm Karavan Familia
Participant in the Thália Theatre's FRINGE evening
Arrangements of Gypsy folksongs “Our repertoire is drawn from arrangements of Gypsy songs from different countries. The most important thing for us is that we must be able to make each song and melody our own – in its content, style and mood. After all, the Caravan Family’s music is Gypsy music – but it’s OUR Gypsy music…”
