11.00 am Mime along with us!
Interactive games without words
Performed by: Gábor Dvorák
With: Pál Király
Children can learn from mime artist Gábor Dvorák how to portray different characters and represent invisible objects and beings.
Associative game, making “magic” together with the tools of metacommunication and gestures.
16.30 pm Brass Circus
With: Csaba Méhes – mime and the Brass in the Five brass quintet
A circus performance where the company has been sent on leave without the knowledge of the orchestra or the public. The unsuspecting five crazy musicians, the Brass in the Five quintet and mime artist, Csaba Méhes as a member of the orchestra begin the performance.
The latest production of Csaba Méhes and the ensemble can be seen in the Thália Theatre from September.
18.00 pm Petőfi – Hangzó Helikon audio books series
With: György Ferenczi and Rackajam
“Normally a Hungarian musician should start out from folk music, but in the home of the Kodály Method it generally doesn’t happen that way. I grew up on the music of Jimi Hendrix, ACDC and the Hobo Blues Band. Today my music is influenced by two things: folk music and Hendrix. My favourite writer is Jókai, my favourite poet Petőfi. No one who embraces the rock and roll lifestyle can be unmoved by Petőfi, the energy and joie de vivre radiating from his poetry. I was hooked by it too.” György Ferenczi
19.30 pm Operetta hits on the Chain Bridge
With: Anita Lukács, Tamás Cselóczki, Mara Kékkovács and Károly Peller, artists of the Budapest Operetta Theatre
A concert featuring melodies from the most popular operettas of Kálmán and Lehár.
21.00 pm Joint performance by the Vodku group and artists of the Radnóti Theatre
With: Márta Martin, Viktória Szávai, Bálint Adorjáni, Zoltán Schneider
The group will perform its songs based on folk music motifs from Central and Eastern Europe. The theatre’s actors also join in the music-making.

16.00 pm Performance by clowns Kamilla Karamella and Fogas
With: Kristóf Darvas – piano
Kamilla-Karamella the young lady clown is a very unusual figure, even if all she does is arrange chairs. She is preparing for a sensational tight-rope walking act that she finally does, sitting on the shoulders of Fogas the clown, to the great amusement of the children in the audience.
17.30 pm Momentán Company
Momentán is a brave theatre company composed entirely of young people who completely disregard such theatrical norms as “repertoire”, “play” or even “role”. They have no stories written in advance: in their performances the drama is always shaped by what the audience wants. We first met them a few years ago in the Momentán programme on channel m1 where they introduced the whole country to the genre of interactive improvisation theatre based on Anglo-Saxon traditions. Last year they created their own studio and playhouse in Dürer Garden in City Park, that they called Momentown.
Viewers can also join in the improvised performance by the Momentán company. They can make up situations, give the actors words to say, go up on the stage as actors themselves, but if they prefer they can remain in the background, no one will force them to do anything.
19.00 pm Murphy’s Laws – extracts
Entertaining comedy with improvisative elements.
Directed and performed by: Gábor Dvorák
The performance is a series of humorous stories based on the spirit of the well known Murphy books.
Interactive game with the audience.
20.30 pm Ruach
World music
The music of the Ruach, winner of a Fringe Prize in 2008 and 2009 is rooted in the sound of Jewish liturgy and Eastern European klezmer. But it is not and does not aim to be traditional klezmer. Their unique sound has been shaped by the Brooklyn postklezmer movement, Argentine tango, the unique rhythms of the Balkans and Turkish classical music.

11.00 am Matty the Goose Boy
Fairy tale
With: Featherbrain Fairy Tale Theatre
Is there anyone in this wide world who has never heard the story of Matty the Goose-boy? You should see it at least “three times”, and tell the story at least “twenty-five times”.
16.15 pm Musical duet – Dóra Szinetár and Zoltán Bereczki
Aladdin, Miss Saigon, Elisabeth, Beauty and the Beast, Romeo and Juliet, Fame, Somewhere in Europe – the best known numbers from these and other successful musicals will be performed by Dóra Szinetár and Zoltán Bereczki, from their two albums of musical duets.
17.30 pm Our Guest the Kolibri Theatre
Fairy tale concert
Songs from The Sea Serpent Who Couldn’t Swim, Company of Cats, Lala the Fairy, and Bekkankó, the Grimace Demon.
19.00 pm Lovely Summer Day – Selection of songs from the new Neoton musical
With: Erika Náray, Anna Peller, Zsuzsa Vágó, Miklós Máté Kerényi, Dávid Szabó and László Szerényi, the musical stars of the Budapest Operetta Theatre
Over two hundred and twenty, Santa Maria, Don Quixote, Till dawn tomorrow, Teen song, Pago Pago – these are just a few of the Neoton evergreens that will be performed. Lovely Summer Day is a real hot retro party – twenty years after the change of political system: a nostalgia trip in our recent past.
20.30 pm EtnoRom
The group was formed in 2005 by the two famous solo singers of Kalyi Jag, József Balog and Ágnes Künstler. The members are Roma virtuosos who have been making music since childhood and who have been almost continuously on the stage. Over the years millions have danced to their songs from Japan to the United States and their voices have been celebrated by audiences as the first “authentic Roma sound” from Central Europe. The group can be heard from September in the series of “Fringe Evenings” in the Thalia Theatre’s Old Studio.

16.00 pm Mime performance by Csaba Méhes
Probably many people need no introduction to mime artist Csaba Méhes. He has been active since 1982 in “silent” performance, without words, using only movement and gestures. The focal point of his performances is man, human behaviour forms, the situations and conflicts – often humorous for an outsider – that arise from differences in character.
17.30 pm Concert by the Szeleburdi Clown Orchestra
Four clowns lay their hands on musical instruments. What will happen?
19.00 pm Sss'ketches
Improvisation theatre
With: Zsolt Reitter and Szilárd Vass
The performance is a series of short scenes, situations – sketches – strung together into a single story, a basically entertaining play that experiments with an unusual genre. The performers involve the audience too, and at times their reactions are woven into the story.
20.30 pm Quartett Esqualo
Music of Astor Piazzola
The ensemble was formed in 2002 by four young artists – Péter Ács (double bass), Zsolt Deli (accordion), István Kerek (violin, viola) and Albert Mayer (guitar). The Quartett Escualo’s repertoire is based mainly on the works of Astor Piazzolla, but they also like to perform contemporary compositions. Over the past five years their programme has steadily expanded and their sound and style polished in many appearances in Hungary and abroad. They have played at the Sziget (Island) Festival, in the Valley of Arts, at the Hétrét Festival in Őriszentpéter, the Zemplén Festival, they have been invited to the Bridge Fair, the Budapest Fair, the Budapest Spring Festival; they have also had their own concerts and radio broadcasts.
The year 2006 brought them big success when they won one of the main prizes at the Fringe Festival launched by the Budapest Spring Festival.
